| Event-style or photojournalistic style photography is about capturing the feel of the event and the moment. It is about getting the shot—not just making the shot. As photojournalist for The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and Associated Press, I am experienced with event-style photography. It's what I do best. I love my job.
Though not timid, I work well in the midst of things, and am careful not to intrude. Brides (and grooms!) often forget I'm even there and so feel comfortable and natural. Balancing observation and involvement, I find just the right place, just the right moment, and capture them both in a memorable image. Putting people at their ease not only helps bring a photograph to life, it's a key consideration when choosing a photographer for such an important occasion.
As for formals, I am happy to do them before the ceremony—to allow more time for you to enjoy your day. I have made a personal study of lighting and when doing formal pictures I am able to accommodate all kinds of lighting challenges. (I bring my own lights and also carry more than one camera as back-up.) Also, because precise color calibration and consistency is so important, I always shoot professional film, which I have professionally processed.
But whatever the circumstance, my clients are pleased. As a professional artist who takes great pride in her work, what's most important to me is that you receive the style and grace of natural photography. Quality without compromise. |
