Description: Sheri Whitko was born and raised in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, a small town just 35 miles west of Philadelphia. She studied photography at the Pennsylvania State University where she also shot for the school newspaper, “The Daily and Weekly Collegian”. There, she photographed for editorial pieces, football games, wrestling matches and rallies. It was during this time that her more candid, journalistic style of shooting began to grow. Sheri has been photographing weddings and events for the past seven years in three major US cities. Her mastery in the studio and on location ranges in commercial and portrait work, encountering celebrities such as Rodham Clinton, Joan Rivers and Peter Jennings. She has been running her own business and managing photo studios since 1997. Sheri has been published in several local magazines such as “Today’s Chicago Woman”, “ The Chicago Social” and “The San Francisco Gazette”. While her time in San Francisco, she photographed everything from Phil Mickelson and Charles Schwab on the Pebble Beach golf course to married couples on the beach and in Nappa Valley. Since her relocation back east, Sheri has enjoyed traveling for many events ranging from grand weddings in Las Vegas to quaint ones in Key West; on top of a mountain in Jackson Hole and on a cruise through the Pugent Sound as well as back to the cities she has lived and loves. New York City was inevitable for this small-town-big-city hearted girl to expand her practice. In 2003 Sheri made her way back east and began to live in this dream. Since her return to the city, Sheri has continued to grow professionally within the field of events photography, combining and maximizing her talents as both a photojournalist and fine art photographer. Some corporate clients include MasterCard, William B. May Real Estate, Accessories Council and Target. Sheri is a twin and recently has spent her creative energy photographing other twins, random body parts and metropolitan nightlife.
