| Mellany's passion for photography started developing when she received her first camera for a birthday present when she was a little girl. Since then, photography has become an increasingly important part of her life and a camera is always close at hand. She studied at Brooks Institute of Photography and strives to stay abreast of current technical advances and photographic trends by continuing to study with top photographers. She is comfortable with either film based or digital photography. In talking to Mellany, you will soon feel the excitement and passion she has for her craft.
Through years of experience, Mellany has developed her own style, combining traditional posing and contemporary imaging with a more relaxed journalistic style for capturing the magic of the moment. There are many milestones in life, the birth of a child, significant birthday celebrations, graduations, weddings, golden anniversaries, family portraits and others. No matter what the occasion, she spends the time to make people feel comfortable and relaxed so they are less aware of the camera and the resulting photographs reflect natural emotions. She also knows that as our memory fades, the photographs become more important, for it is the photograph that will keep the details and emotions of each event alive.
